The 2009 meet was a roaring success! Not only were there classic activities such as the custom contest and live auction, but the scooter race was revamped, and now features a custom-built racetrack! Many new activities made their debut as well, including a coloring contest, whack-a-fakie, and more!
This year's custom contest theme was "Carousel Ponies" in honor this year's mascot, the Merry-Go-Round pony. Llamacorn took this year off, to make way for a bigger pinata more capable of holding candy and MLP items.
One of the most memorable aspects of the meet aside the pony events themselves was the amazing rainbow cake created from scratch by Paaradox. This cake, when cut into slices, revealed rainbow-colored layers of cake, topped with white icing. The pictures below in the photo gallery show the process as the cake was created, but Paaradox's method is a secret!
It is with the success of this meet that future MD meets may be moved to a nearby location, because the number of attendees and thousands of ponies are simply outgrowing the current meet space. And with the rate that attendance keeps rising, it's about time!
