The 2010 meet was another great success! Aside the traditional MD Meet activities like the scooter race, raffle, custom contest, and live auction, there were a few brand new additions.
This year's custom contest theme was "Mythology," which featured different custom creations reflecting Greek, Egyptian, Chinese, and Aztec mythology. The winning custom was "Baby Medusa" by Kar Red Roses--Congratulations!
One of the new surprises this year was a set of three hand-made wooden lifesize pony standups, which featured G1 Firefly, G2 Light Heart, and G3 Rainbow Dash. These pieces were created by this year's brand new MD Meet Committee, and proved to be a popular location for photos for many who attended.
Another activity planned as a surprise were the G1 and G3 Mystery Jars. These clear glass jars were filled to capacity with a G1 Pearly Baby Blossom and other G1 accessories, and a G3 Baby Honolu-loo and other G3 accessories, respectively. The attendee who guessed closest to the number of individual items in each jar won that jar and everything inside!
The meet was also held predominantly outdoors, in a large tent which accommodated all of the attendees who required table space. Parking was improved, and the availability of food was made more budget-friendly and more effective for the large number of attendees and their guests.
Special thanks is much deserved by Foresight (mother of collector Hindsight) for her enthusiastic volunteering contributions, to the generous members who sold what became some of the meet's prize donations at very reasonable prices (Tsukikakushi, Manateejaq, Starrby, MidnightFireflies, partypony556, and Sparkleset80), and of course the invaluable MD Meet Committee.
