Hello, world!
My name is Jewel, and I am a twenty-something with an avid interest in collecting My Little Ponies.
In my everyday life, I am a college student from the east coast of the US, soon to be graduating with a bachelor's degree in Film. But you're not here to read about that kind of stuff, are you?
I have been collecting ponies since I can remember, since the first Cotton Candy which was given to me before I could even talk. After a brief hiatus and a collecting renaissance through the G2 line, I joined the MLP online communities when I was a teenager. I have now been active in the community in general for almost ten years. During that time, my collection has grown from 45 to over 1200 individual ponies.
Presently, I help moderate the My Little Pony Trading Post, the community which holds many of my long time pony friends, and likewise, much of my heart.
I am also the hostess of the annual Maryland Pony Meets, which began in 2002. The 2010 meet is expected to exceed 50 collectors from all around the country!
Collecting ponies has opened up a crazy, quirky, incredible world to me, both in my own experiences and the strong, lasting friendships I have made with fellow collectors. It's a unique little corner of the collecting hobby, and I very much enjoy it.
