Hello, world!
My name is Jewel, and I am a twenty-something with an avid interest in collecting My Little Ponies.
In my everyday life, I am a recent college graduate from the east coast of the US, recently having obtained my bachelor's degree in Film. But you're not here to read about that kind of stuff, are you?
I have been collecting ponies for as long as I can remember, since the first Cotton Candy which was given to me before I could even talk. After a brief hiatus and a collecting renaissance through the G2 line, I joined the My Little Pony online communities when I was a teenager. I have now been active in the community in general for almost ten years. During that time, my collection has grown from 45 to over 1200 individual ponies from all over the world, some of them truly one-of-a-kind items!
Presently, I help moderate the My Little Pony Trading Post, the community which hosts many of my long time pony friends, and likewise, much of my heart.
I am also the hostess of the annual Maryland Pony Meets, which began in 2002. The meets seem to grow with every consecutive year!
Collecting ponies has opened up a crazy, quirky, incredible world to me, both in my own experiences and the strong, lasting friendships I have made with fellow collectors. It's a unique little corner of the collecting hobby, and I very much enjoy it.
